This is the day that many Nintendo Switch owners were looking forward to, as it just so happens to be the release date for Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Developed by Ubisoft, this joint effort marks a monumental first, as the two worlds have never before collided. Now, they’ve done so in a big way, through a game that has been receiving very positive reviews.
Developed by Ubisoft Milan*, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle sees Mario and his friends engage in a turn-based combat adventure across four iconic worlds. The Mushroom Kingdom’s heroes will have access to a collection of more than 250 unique weapons with distinct statistics to take down enemies. Players will form a team of three heroes from a roster of eight diverse characters, each with their own unique personalities and skill sets ensuring that matches play out differently with each team combination.
The game’s additional co-op challenges, available in three levels of difficulty, allow players to join forces with a friend in local multiplayer and engage in the same thrilling tactical gameplay as a team. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will take advantage of the ability of Nintendo Switch to be played anywhere, anytime and is fully functioning on the go in both solo and co-op modes. Players will be able to unlock new in-game features with their unique amiibo™ figures.
The collectors among us can bypass the regular edition of the game, and go straight for Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle‘s Collector’s Edition set. On top of the game, itself, it includes a soundtrack CD, physical collector’s cards, and a six inch Rabbid Mario figure from Ubicollectibles.
Stay tuned for our detailed review of Mario + Rabbids, which will soon be published by our very own Brent Botsford.
