At Nintendo Treehouse Live at E3, Reggie Fils-Aime showed off the trailer for a new game coming to Nintendo 3DS.
The world premiere of Metroid: Samus Returns can be seen in the trailer above and is a reimagination of Metroid 2: Return of Samus from the Game Boy era. However, as much as that may be the case, the game has entirely new mechanics such as 3D movement and scanning, new items and abilities, as well as a secondary map on the lower screen which would of course not have been possible at the time of the Game Boy.
Details are ongoing as the game is currently in live-play on the Nintendo Treehouse stage alongside the developers.
Metroid: Samus Returns comes out later this year, exclusively on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS systems.
