EA’s highly acclaimed period military shooter, Battlefield 1 is continuing on stronger than ever! To that end, publisher, EA took the opportunity at their EA Play press conference today to detail the game’s next upcoming DLC expansion, “In the Name of the Tsar.”
As part of Battlefield 1’s Premium Pass, “In the Name of the Tsar” will further bolster the game’s multiplayer suite with six all-new maps, several additional vehicles, eleven new weapons, and an all-new game mode called ‘Supply Drop’. The expansion will place players in control of the Russian military, and most notably, will offer the series’ first fully playable female protagonists through the Women’s Battalion of Death.
Alongside details on the next Battlefield 1 expansion, EA also confirmed new monthly updates for their beloved shooter. Later in Summer, two additional maps will be added for owners of the previous, “They Shall Not Pass” expansion, namely, ‘Nivelle Nights’ and ‘Prise de Tahure’, which also offer nighttime variations. DICE has also confirmed a new specialized competitive suite for Battlefield 1 coming in the near future, though we have to wait until this year’s Gamescom later this Summer for additional details.
Battlefield 1 is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Its Premium Pass is available for an additional $49.99 USD/$64.99 CDN.
