Those who’ve been eagerly anticipating the broad release of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass won’t have to wait much longer, as the company has officially announced that the subscription service will become available to all Xbox One owners starting on June 1st. That’s just the date for everyone, though. Folks who currently own a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription, of which there are many, can actually access and subscribe to the service starting today, giving them the benefit of ‘Early Access.’
For the uninitiated, the Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that is quite similar in design to Electronic Arts’ EA Access. Through it, gamers will be able to pay a set fee of $11.99 (Canadian) per month, in order to gain access to more than 100 digital Xbox One and backwards compatible Xbox 360 games. It’s a neat idea, for sure, and one that will benefit those who are new to the console(s), as well as those who’ve yet to play most of the games on offer.
Examples of titles that will be made available include, but are not limited to:
- All three BioShock games
- Gears of War 1-3, as well as Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
- Saints Row IV: Re-Elected
- Terraria
- NBA 2k16
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Mad Max
- Mega Man Legacy Collection
