Horror fans, rejoice! Red Barrels is back, and has brought with it a brand new Outlast game, which will begin to toy with our collective sanity in less than a day’s time.
What we have for you here is the new, incredibly disturbing and awfully visceral launch trailer for Outlast II. One that begins with a disturbing child’s voice speaking an equally eerie quote, before showing a destroyed helicopter and all of the Hell that is to follow.
It goes without saying, of course, given what we know about Outlast and what is expected of its sequel, but what’s presented here is incredibly dark and unnerving. So much so, in fact, that this trailer will likely end up doing two, rather opposite, things. That is, exciting us horror fans who live for this stuff, while also scaring away those who don’t think they can take the nerves, scares and/or violence. Both reactions are understandable, though, because the original Outlast exists as one of the most unnerving (and frightening) video games of all-time, and certainly isn’t for everyone.
So, without further adieu, here’s a look at the dread, horror and nightmares that will play out on our computer and television screens once Outlast II drops tomorrow morning. Check it out, then stay tuned for our full review, which will be published later today.
