Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch was one of the most beloved third-party exclusives to hit the PlayStation 3 as its twilight years began in 2013, and demand for a sequel has been very high ever since. Finally, that demand was answered by Bandai Namco and Level-5 at PlayStation Experience today, as Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom was announced for PlayStation 4!
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will presumably maintain the gameplay style of its predecessor, a proud Japanese RPG, which had players entering a fantastical world, and commanding monsters in a hybrid turn-based/action-based battle system, as they attempted to uncover a great mystery, and stop the machinations of the evil white witch. As with its predecessor, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom also seems to be put together with the iconic Japanese animation style of Studio Ghibli. The game will feature an entirely new cast and storyline however, and now seems to be about a young boy king who aspires to quell dissent and war within his borders.
