Ubisoft has taken to the web to announce its first-ever Rainbow Six: Siege tournament in Canada.
The national competition will begin on August 26th in Montreal, Quebec before heading to Toronto on September 10th, Calgary on September 14th, and Vancouver on September 17th.
The finals for the event will be held at the Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Toronto on September 24th, nearly a full month after the tournament commences. The final team will be awarded a Ubisoft prize pack as well as a $5,000 cash grand prize.
“We’re excited to bring this Rainbow Six Siege tournament to Canada for the first time, and look forward to revealing the best gamer teams in the country,” said Lucile Bousquet, Senior. Director of Marketing and Communications, Ubisoft Entertainment – Canada. “Our objective is to bring our community together in a fun and competitive experience, to have them play our games and engage them with our brand. We’re always interested in getting gamers’ feedback, whether it’s during the tournament or through the open beta available in September.”
The game itself doesn’t launch until October 13th of this year, so each team will be on a level playing field based on the number of practice hours they’ll have: zero. Of course, there is always that closed beta going on.
Interested gamers can be a part of the action by heading to RainbowSixSiege.ca and signing up their five-person team for the event.
Rainbow Six: Siege launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC on October 13th.
