At their E3 conference today, Ubisoft announced an all-new action game IP, For Honor. The game is a brutal, melee-focused squabble between three warring factions: Samurai, vikings and knights.
Ubisoft Montreal is developing the newly-announced offering, which had its multiplayer 4-vs.-4 combat demonstrated at Ubisoft’s conference, with each side pushing toward an objective, accompanied by numerous capable A.I. allies. This made it somewhat resemble a Westernized version of Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors series, only more strategic.
Executions appear to be a key gameplay mechanic, so despite the apparent strategy focus, For Honor doesn’t skimp on violence or thrills! Ubisoft Montreal hopes to pioneer something of a new multiplayer genre for the game, though how it may accommodate solo players, if at all, was left unanswered.
Regardless, For Honor will release in 2016, and is planned for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Keep charging to Eggplante for all news and updates on For Honor, and other promising new Ubisoft game IP’s.
