In an interview and Mario Kart 8 play-session with Smosh Games, Nintendo’s most public figurehead, Shigeru Miyamoto, announced that StarFox will be playable at E3 2015 in just a few months.
Miyamoto also added that the game will have some brand new uses for the GamePad which we’ll have to wait and see to believe. The function of the GamePad has been hit or miss, at best.
A playable version of StarFox is quite an interesting revelation given that we had no confirmation that the game existed up until last year’s E3, and even that was a bunch of blurry footage shot off-television and included little, if any, real information about the game. Of course, with it confirmed to be launching before Zelda (which is on track for release this holiday season), it might stand to reason that we’ll see just what the game plays like in person.
StarFox for Wii U will retain its traditional third-person view of the series’s signature fighter, the Arwing.
We’ll have lots more information, as well as hands-on with games at E3 2015, when the show hits the Los Angeles Convention Centre in June.
