Here we go again. Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world racer, The Crew has suffered yet another setback, though one that is at least still keeping it in 2014. It has vacated its November 11th release date (November 14th for Europe), and will now launch on December 2nd of this year, worldwide.
This is the third delay that The Crew has suffered, after initially being planned to release in the launch window for the next-gen consoles before March 31st, 2014. The game then moved to September, with Ubisoft green-lighting a last-gen port for Xbox 360 in the meantime (though strangely, not PlayStation 3), and was pushed back again to November so that Ubisoft could garner feedback from a closed beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Once again, the delay to December is out of a desire for Ubisoft to host a second closed beta for The Crew, a beta that will again be hosted for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and apparently not the PC or Xbox 360 versions.
The Crew is an open-world, social-minded racer, where players can form their own racing crews and take on challenges and opponents from across the real world. It, alongside Watch Dogs and The Division, is one of Ubisoft’s most high-profile new IP’s for the next generation of consoles.
