Interested in upcoming (and highly promising) 3DS eShop action game, Azure Striker Gunvolt? Well, you may be interested to know that early adopters can look forward to a little extra something when they make the download.
Developer, Inti Creates has revealed that anyone who buys Azure Striker Gunvolt from the 3DS eShop before November 28th in North America, will receive a free download code for a complementary 8-bit game called Mighty Gunvolt. The game will be a crossover with a Japan-exclusive game called GalGun, and more importantly, will also feature Beck, the main protagonist of the upcoming and massively anticipated Kickstarter success, Mighty No. 9.
Mighty Gunvolt will comprise five stages, and its three characters, which also include Azure Striker Gunvolt protagonist, Gunvolt, will differ in play style and abilities. The game is meant as a cheeky thank-you gift from Inti for people who aspire to support Japanese action games, which have seen a decline in recent years, particularly in the triple-A game market.
Azure Striker Gunvolt is a collaborative effort between Inti Creates and Comcept, the new independent game developer founded by Mega Man series creator, Keiji Inafune, following his departure from Capcom. The game is modeled very closely after the Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX games in particular, featuring action-packed, high-speed gameplay where players control Gunvolt, a psychic-powered hero with electrical capabilities, battling against evil themed psychics.
Azure Striker Gunvolt comes exclusively to the 3DS eShop on Thursday, August 29th, for $14.99. Look for Comcept’s other spiritual Mega Man successor, Mighty No. 9, Beck’s starring debut, in April 2015. It will release for PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, 3DS, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
