#50 – Persona 5
Available On: PS3
Releasing: TBA
Little more than a vague teaser has been shown for this much-anticipated RPG sequel, only confirming that it will be be exclusive to PS3, and come to Japan late next year. Western audiences will likely have to wait a bit longer, but given that this is one of the most requested modern RPG sequels of all time, it’s probable that people will wait as long as they have to, and they won’t even need to make the leap to PS4!
#51 – Samurai Warriors 4
Available On: PS3
Releasing: TBA
Tecmo Koei is still planning another Samurai Warriors sequel for the PS3, even if its status is a bit questionable at this point. They’re no doubt busy preparing Hyrule Warriors for Wii U, but after that, here’s hoping that they can follow through with the plan to wrap up the series for the seventh console generation.
#52 – Tales of Zestiria
Available On: PS3
Releasing: TBA
A new mainline Tales RPG that was just recently announced, Tales of Zestiria has been confirmed for release in North America and Europe, though given that Tales of Symphonia Chronicles and Tales of Xillia 2 are already arriving on the PS3 next year, it’s unlikely that we’ll see Tales of Zestiria before 2015.
#53 – Persona 4 Arena Ultimate [Title Not Final]
Available On: PS3
Releasing: TBA
Atlus hasn’t given the final word on whether this upgraded edition of Persona 4 Arena is coming to North America, but given how popular that fighter is, even being featured in various fighting game tournaments, it would be odd to leave this upgrade in Japan. Nonetheless however, Xbox 360 players are sadly being left out this time, as Persona 4 Arena’s upgraded re-release is only planned for PS3. At least the Xbox faithful have the original release to enjoy still.
Obviously, it’s probable that there remain several Xbox 360 and PS3 games that haven’t been announced yet, so we naturally can’t account for games that may be revealed for current-gen consoles over the course of 2014. Bottom line however, you’ll want to hang on to your last-gen platforms, as there’s still plenty of high-quality current-gen games to enjoy before the PS4 and Xbox One fully take over.
