- The Year of Luigi kicks off – Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for 3DS gets a release date and details about its multiplayer offerings. Read our review here.

- Mario & Luigi: Dream Team also gets announced in this Nintendo Direct, and we just got our review of the game up a couple of months ago!
. - New Super Luigi U is announced as the first large-scale DLC to hit the Wii U. The game later goes on to be announced as an add-on pack to the original title, New Super Mario Bros. U, or as a physical copy to be purchased at retail. Read (and watch!) our review here.

- Animal Crossing: New Leaf gets some more details defining why it is the definitive version of the game in the series. Read our review here.

- LEGO City: Undercover – We’re shown some new details about the game, as well as given a little tour around some new gameplay mechanics for the 3DS version, The Chase Begins. Read our review for the Wii U version and 3DS version here.
Nintendo 3DS Direct – April 17
- Zelda Zelda Zelda! – So much Zelda goodness in this Nintendo 3DS Direct. But first…
. - Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is given some love with some new details leading up to its May 24th release. Read our review here.
. - Mario Party for 3DS gets detailed, though without a final release date. We end up later finding out that it’s full title is Mario Party: Island Tour and that the game is not very good.

- Then we get to Zelda, where a sequel to A Link to the Past is announced for later this year. The game would, of course, be come to be known as A Link Between Worlds, and it’s awesome, not to mention number five on our list of best Zelda titles of all time!
Nintendo Direct – May 17
- Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games – A game that sells very well but no real gamer will ever attest to actually owning got announced with this Mario & Sonic Olympics-based sports title. Read our review here.
. - Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, and New Super Luigi U got detailed a bit more. Other than that, this Nintendo Direct was a little light.
