Following years of speculation, the sequel to 2008’s first-person parkour-inspired action platformer Mirror’s Edge has finally been announced. Featured at EA’s Press Conference yesterday afternoon, developer DICE had a chance to bring new life to this much-loved game.
“We introduced Mirror’s Edge and Faith to gamers five years ago, and we’ve waited for the right moment to reunite them,” stated DICE Senior Producer Sara Jansson. “Thanks to the Frostbite engine and a new generation of platforms, we are now able to deliver a richer world that players will be able to explore with a new level of freedom in both movement and action.”
As you’ll see below, the debut trailer for Mirror’s Edge 2 features everything we loved about the original, and looks as beautiful as ever. To be released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, this sequel is still far from being finished, however, and is “coming… when it’s ready”, according to the trailer.
